Federico Milani is the Deputy Head of the Data Policy and Innovation Unit within the CNECT Directorate General. The Unit is responsible for developing data policies that facilitate data access and promote the growth of the European data economy. His work involves the implementation of various legislative instruments, including the Open Data Directive, Data Governance Act, and Data Act, which are part of the European Strategy for Data. Prior to his current position, Mr. Milani held the position of Deputy Head in the Creativity unit, where he contributed to enhancing the competitiveness of the creative industry sector. Mr. Milani's educational background includes a PhD in neural networks and intelligent systems, as well as a degree in electronic engineering.

Alessio has been a member of the digital-ready policymaking team within the Interoperability and Digital Government Unit of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Informatics since March 2023. His primary focus has been on developing methodologies for Better Regulation, with a particular emphasis on digital-ready policymaking.

Additionally, he has been involved in project management and development of AI solutions for law and policymaking, including the SORTIS project, as well as exploring other aspects of legal semantics. Notably, his thesis, "AI as a General Purpose Technology," was awarded the prestigious Bernardo Nobile prize in 2022 for its innovative approach to leveraging patents as a source of information for forecasting technological evolutions. Alessio holds a master's degree in AI for public services and a master's degree in International Relations.

Franck Noël is director for Data, Information and Knowledge Management Services at the Publications Office of the European Union. Franck has 30 years of experience in information technology, artificial intelligence and digital transformation in both the private and public sectors.
