Alessio has been a member of the digital-ready policymaking team within the Interoperability and Digital Government Unit of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Informatics since March 2023. His primary focus has been on developing methodologies for Better Regulation, with a particular emphasis on digital-ready policymaking.
Additionally, he has been involved in project management and development of AI solutions for law and policymaking, including the SORTIS project, as well as exploring other aspects of legal semantics. Notably, his thesis, "AI as a General Purpose Technology," was awarded the prestigious Bernardo Nobile prize in 2022 for its innovative approach to leveraging patents as a source of information for forecasting technological evolutions. Alessio holds a master's degree in AI for public services and a master's degree in International Relations.
